Audi will participate in a variety events with the awards show, along with supplying vehicles, like the A6, A7 and A8 flagship cars, to chauffeur celebrity guests. Audi will also hold a pre-awards party on September 11 in West Hollywood.

“Audi is honored to support the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in recognizing exceptional talent in television,” said Audi of America’s head of marketing, Scott Keogh, in an Audi press release. “The brand has become a key player within the entertainment industry and has a longstanding history as a friend of the arts, making this partnership a perfect fit.”

The 63rd annual Emmy Awards will be at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, and broadcast live on the FOX.

According to World Car Fans: a new report is indicating the A9 coupe could be launched as soon as 2014.

Although unconfirmed, Car Magazine says the range-topping model would be based on the A8 and built alongside the R8 at the company’s factory in Neckarsulm, Germany. Furthermore, with the redesigned Mercedes S-Class set to spawn a convertible variant, an A9 cabriolet could be in the cards for 2015.

The car will supposedly be powered by a 208 horsepower 3.0-liter V6, or an even more powerful 513 hp 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. We don’t expect to see the V8 option stateside, maybe a V6 with turbocharged engine.

There are many auto makers who engage their fans on social networking sites, such as Twitter and Facebook. But who does it the best? Audi. According to a Mashable and Visibli analysis, the car company has the most “LIKES” and most status updates within the “first hour and 20 minutes of being published.”

Specific vehicles with a huge following include the all new 2011 Audi A6 and A7.

More than 200 million Facebook users were tracked in February and March of 2011. Audi was found to have the “most-engaged fans” among pages with more than 100,000 “Likes.” For each status update, the automaker got more than 225 “Likes” per 100,000 fans. This bests celebs Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga.

CEO and co-founder of Visibli Saif Ajani said he doesn’t know why Audi comes off so well – “We’re trying to find out ourselves,” he added. An Audi rep says he hasn’t seen the study, and declined comment.

It seems Audi is working on “leaning suspension” technology for use in the next generation of A5 3.0 liter TDI’s. There’s only a short video showing what appears to be an experiment from Audi’s suspension development. World Car Fans thinks it could simply be a group of students doing “something fun on their own,” since the fellows in the video below seem rather young to be working for Audi R&D.

An updated 2011 A4 has a lot to say on Audi’s behalf. That’s mainly due to the fact that A4 is the best-selling Audi in America. With base models starting at $34,500 (but versions hit upwards of $43,220) this sporty sedan not only takes off at the change of a traffic light, but also performs well at the pump.

Audi squeezed every last bit of performance out of its turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, which powers all versions of the A4, and produces 258 lb-feet of torque at 1500 rpm. A4′s come in manual or an eight-speed automatic, with smooth transitioning between gears.

Audi’s new A4 receives better gas mileage than previous models. The all-wheel-drive A4 is rated at 21/29 mpg city/highway with the eight-speed automatic (a 2 mpg improvement compared with the six-speed 2010 model). The front-wheel-drive A4 with automatic transmission gets 22/30 mpg.

This car is safe too – really safe. A4 was a 2011 Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety – receiving the highest possible overall score from IIHS during frontal-offset, side-impact, roof-strength and rear-impact testing. Safety features include antilock brakes, side-impact airbags, side curtain airbags and an electronic stability system.

Ready for launch next year, the Q5 remains somewhat unchanged as far as looks. It still sports the dotted line of Audi running lights, which have become highly popular over recent years. The car’s round stature and aerodynamic design make it a perfect candidate for hybrid technology.

Audi and Grammy-winning saxophonist Kenny G have come together for a hilarious online and television video – including the brand’s 60-second spot during Super Bowl XLV. It features Kenny as a luxury prison “Riot Suppressor.”
Watch the video below, if for nothing else to hear Mr. G state: “Anyone calls me Kenny Z, I’ll F*%k em up.”

According to Audi, “Challenging viewers to re-think luxury, the ad will feature a number of elements that recall the heyday of old lux. The multiplatinum sax man Kenny G was chosen for his unmistakable music, whose songs and stylings brings the audience back to a certain era.” Audi’s 2011 Super Bowl spot also will feature the award-winning 2011 A8 sedan, the “apex of Audi’s new luxury lineup.”

Last year’s “Green Car” Audi commercials featured the A3 TDI, Green Car Journal’s 2010 “Green Car of the Year.” The 2009 Super Bowl ad featured action star Jason Statham in a series of high-speed, luxury car chase scenes.
