Audi’s sporty Q3 Vail Concept, built off the base model, was sent to Detroit also, to wet the whistles of car fans world wide.

Audi Q3 Vail features a powerful 2.5-liter TFSI engine, capable of producing an amazing 314 horsepower.

“The concept is painted in a color developed specially for it–Energy Red, adds Motor Authority, “which contains golden pearlescent particles. Its add-on body parts are finished in matte grey quartz-based paint, and underline the vehicle’s rugged themes, while the aluminum and high-gloss black window surrounds add a touch of luxury.”

We’re excited to see production models of this Audi hatchback on North American dealership lots in late 2012.

The designs, drawn by student Marouane Bembli of the Scuola Politecnica di Design in Milan, show a supercar above the R8 in Audi’s lineup. Bembli envisions a lightweight vehicle around 2,645 lbs with a V10 engine. We can’t wait to see what the R10 will actually look like, and if Bembli is on the mark.

“While this has been rumored for years, Ingolstadt insiders are reporting that several proposals are under consideration for production. Nothing is official, but speculation suggests the model would be futuristic, low volume and use state-of-the-art technology. Like the original car, the new A2 would be focused on fuel efficiency and lightness.”

This RS7 rendering sees the car with a rear-mounted engine, with design elements much like the current (real) Audi R8, including the contrast in color between the engine bonnet and the rest of the body. But here the contrast becomes more defined, with a stark black covering the rear engine bay and extending to the rear of the body, covering the rear wheel wells too.

The horizontal design lines resonate Lamborghini, just like the R8 does, but also provide a larger curve over the front wheel wells adding a more organic touch to the RS7. The front face comes with a very distinctive double-gaping mouth, with minimalist LED headlamps and two small, round lights at the center.

The scissor/gullwing doors are another special feature, borrowed from some Lambo models as well. This design study is a creation of Adriano Mudri, and Austrian industrial designer with a degree from the University of Applied Sciences in Graz, Austria. Mudri has also worked a 10-month stint as an exterior designer for Magna Steyr.

On top of the grand opening comes the announcement that the Audo R8 V10 will make its official debut to the European public. Audi first unveiled the R8 V10 Spyder at the 2009 Frankfurt International Motor Show last month. It runs the same 5.2-litre V10 engine found in the coupe. Maximum power is 386kW (518 PS) and peak torque is 530Nm (391 lb-ft). The 0 – 62mph sprint time is 4.1 seconds while the manual can deliver a top speed of 194 mph.

Audi first plans on introducing a gas and diesel variant of their E1 – based on a combination of Volkswagen Up! Audi Metroproject and A2 concepts. Afterwords, expect to see a fully-electric motor, ready to chase the electric car competition down the road. Audi will also introduce a larger E2 sports coupe hybrid. But they do not have plans to bring a fully electric sportster due to technological restraints.

Audi’s all aluminum A2 concept from 2007 will be transformed into the E3 -coming out by 2011. Larger sedans, an E4 and E5, should be at your local Audi dealer by 2014.

Audi released some sexy concept sketches of the new A1 Sportback, which will be revealed at the upcoming Paris Motor Show. The A1 Sportback concept has an overall length of 12 feet – making this sexy, sporty Hatchback the little cousin of the larger A3 Sportback, which measures in a 14. And it retains the massive, attractive grill, boasting the quatro-rings. Looks like you’ve got room for four plus a small trunk space – but it seems as if people who drive hatchbacks don’t really worry themselves with cargo room.

Under the hood Audi has blessed A1 with a 150 HP 1.4-liter TFSI engine with a 27 horse power hybrid drive. This spare hybrid power gives the A1 an extra shot of 110 lb-ft of torque. This Sportback can pump itself 0-to-60 in about 7.9 seconds. Inside, Audi’s A1 Sportback contains a rounded dash with circular trim. Vents and gauges are complete circles – bringing your driving experience full circle. Oh Audi – so witty!
