Audi A5 Leans Into Turns, Literally

This isn’t some advertising gimmick or April Fools Joke. The all new Audi A5 can actually lean into tight corners and turns. (For the record, Autoblog.com believes this may, in fact, be an April Fool’s joke.) But we love the idea!

It seems Audi is working on “leaning suspension” technology for use in the next generation of A5 3.0 liter TDI’s. There’s only a short video showing what appears to be an experiment from Audi’s suspension development. World Car Fans thinks it could simply be a group of students doing “something fun on their own,” since the fellows in the video below seem rather young to be working for Audi R&D.

If it is true, Audi will be the first to “corner” the leaning suspension market. See what we did there?

Audi Brings More RS to the US

Audi plans to bring more RS models to the US market, the German automaker has confirmed this week. At the recent Audi Forum at the company’s headquarters in Ingolstadt, in the German state of Bavaria, Stephan Reil (head developer for the Audi Quattro) cited the more favorable euro-dollar exchange rate as well as converging emissions regulations as factors helping the business case for taking low-volume RS models stateside.

Audi only recently announced that the TT-RS was headed for America and the premium automaker has delayed the introduction of the RS5 until 2012, when the entire A5 range gets a make-over.

Out of the running for an RS-variant are Audi’s range of SUVs as well as the A8, which Reil says is too big. The RS4 is supposed to hit American shores “maybe next year.”

What The F&*k Audi?!

First off, why does every Audi ad begin in the bowels of some shady looking parking garage? (or car park, as the Brits say). And yes, I am more than aware that is how Transporter 2 began (my personal favorite of the Audi-based Jason Statham trilogy.) Anyway, Audi’s new Clean Diesel / Audi A5 ad is a bit too much to handle. Don’t worry, there’s a twist, but it’s a bit of an extreme to promote new low-emissions tech.

Wow Audi…simply WOW.
